Progress on the XML data standards for academic ePortfolios took an unexpected turn recently with the sudden, tragic death of one of its primary contributors, Joseph Giroux, in August.
His significant contribution to the work of the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC) Academic ePortfolio Workgroup over the past year has allowed the project to move forward towards its goals and objectives.
In a recent update on the status of their schema development work, Don Phillips, Project Director, commented on Joseph's contribution to the project. "Our project would not be where it is today without [Joseph's] dedication, insight, and curiosity."
