The ePortfolio California team is made up of experts in the field of educational technology, who share a passion for improving teaching and learning.

As Director of the California Virtual Campus, Vicki Suter oversees the ePortfolio California Program. Formerly, Vicki served as the Director of the National Learning Infrastructure Initiative (NLII) at EDUCAUSE, where she worked for five years with the membership to realize a vision of higher education as active and learner-centered, dynamic and lifelong, collaborative, cost-effective, high-quality and accessible. With the teams that she convened, she designed, developed, implemented and evaluated the Educause NLII annual conferences and focus sessions exploring emerging technologies such as electronic portfolios (eportfolios), collaboration and communication software, social media and mobile technologies. The Virtual Community of Practice project, designed and facilitated with a core group of practitioners, led to the emergence of the international Electronic Portfolio Action and Communication (ePAC) Community of Practice that continues to be a vibrant online community.

Dr. John Ittelson currently serves as the Director of Instructional Technologies for the K-20 California Educational Technology Collaborative (K20CETC), a new consortium focused on helping students prepare for college. He is also Professor, Emeritus of Information Technology and Communications Design at California State University, Monterey Bay, where he was a founding faculty member. Dr. Ittelson represented the CSU, Chancellors Office as the lead on involvement with ePortfolio initiatives in the CSU System, and other national collaborative activities on ePortfolios. He currently sits on the Board’s of the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, The California Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Access Monterey Peninsula.
Kathleen Willbanks currently works with the ePortfolio California team as program manager. She previously served as the Senior Project Manager of the CSU CDL and was on the Administration Team of MERLOT. She focused research on ePortfolios while pursuing a Master’s in Education and Technology. Prior to her experience in higher education, Kathleen was a Director of Marketing and an Assistant Controller in private industry. She has been involved with the North Bay Multimedia Association, the Business Education Roundtable, was chair of the local Chamber of Commerce. She is currently on the Sonoma County Board of Education, serving on California County School Board Legislative Committee, and on the WCET Steering Committee.

Patty Donohue is a program manager for the California Virtual Campus, currently working on the ePortfolio California project. Prior to joining the CVC, Patty spent over twelve years in the educational software industry, most recently leading the sales and marketing efforts for PLATO Learning’s science education catalog division. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design from California State University, Chico, where she currently resides with her son and daughter. “I am very interested in exploring emerging educational technologies and how they may transform our preconceived notions of how to study, how to learn, and how to teach."
